Our doctors use a technique called Orthokeratology to help patients obtain vision correction by wearing custom fit contact lenses at night while sleeping.
Our doctors use the exact prescription and shape of the eye to create a custom fit contact lens for each patient, which the patient wears only at night while sleeping. The lens acts as a retainer to safely reshape the front of the eye. The lens gradually corrects vision so the patient can ultimately not have to wear contacts during the day.
The technique is completely safe and 100% reversible. If a patient simply stops wearing the lens, then the front of the eye goes back to its original shape.
Great candidates for orthokeratology include:
- Children wanting to slow the progression of their eye prescription and/or wanting freedom from wearing daytime glasses or contact lenses
- Patients who want but are not candidates for laser eye surgery
- Patients suffering from dry eyes while wearing normal contact lenses
Our doctors offer free consultations to see if you or your child is a candidate for orthokeratology!
